WP-Click-Tracker

Description

The click tracker works in 2 modes:
1. Scans posts and rewrites them to include a tracking element
2. Enables users to create stand alone trackable links that can be embedded in posts or offsite.

There is advanced reporting for viewing the click statistics. Reports include:
1. Top Referrers of clicks. Helps to coorelate where the popular links are at 🙂
2. Individual clicks.
3. Clicks by day.
4. Clicks by hour.
5. Graphs and charts per link and globally.
6. Admin dashboard widget.

Usage
The click tracker works in 2 modes:
1. Scans posts and rewrites them to include a tracking element
2. Enables users to create stand alone trackable links that can be embedded in posts or offsite.

Links that are included in posts should contain a title paramater in the href to have the reference name
be automatically created. Ex:
<a href=”http://url.com” title=”Link Title”>link copy</a>

Links without a title attribute will have the name parsed through the wrapped text (if that fails default name is used (No Name Given)).

You can also create standalone links using the Link Manager to embed in external websites.

Future Releases

FAQ

Does it track logged in user clicks?

At the moment the click tracker makes no distinction between logged in users and guests.

How soon do stats show up

Stats will show up once a link has been clicked.

I can’t get it to work! Help!!

Check if you have the Google Analytics plugin installed. If it is, make sure you have “Track Outbound Links” unchecked. This conflicts with wp-click-tracker.

I spent i guess about hundred hours investigating all kinds of manners to track traffic (outbound links) to analyse functionality and flow, and be able to report to participants on the webplatforms I / we host. Google analytics is very nice, but also very complex to grasp it ‘all’. This plugin is really ‘plug and go’. For me a next step would be if it could also track clicks of an embedded google map, look eg at http://www.transitieportaal.nl/boeken/diagnose-levensklem that is a book ‘I’ wrote on getting jammed in ‘out system’ and ‘mental care’. I contribute to create a more healthy mental care system by referencing in the (open web / source) book to people who I find more sense full to go to when you are depressed, suicidal, etc. Places, ‘therapists’, experienced people, etc. And I want to report to these participants if people clicked on there item on the map… Well, we’ll see, thanks for sharing this usefull tool! Iwanjka www.iwanjka.com / iwanjka@gmail.com PS: Especially being able to click on a point in the graph and the plugin showing the clicks of that particular day makes me happy! PPS: Anyone who is also ‘struggling’ cq working on traffic analysis and wants to share knowledge, ask questions, feel free to drop me an email!
